October 11, 2012, marked a pivotal moment when the United Nations declared the first-ever International Day of the Girl, calling for an end to child marriage and advocating for the rights of girls worldwide. Fast forward 12 years, and Zonta International is still leading the charge, standing up for every girl’s right to dream big and achieve her full potential.
This year, we took action in a bold way, creating a powerful video for our club’s social media channels. We turned the negative messages young girls often hear on their heads, showing the strength, resilience, and brilliance of girls when they’re given the chance to thrive.
The video stars some incredible women from our club, including Zonta District 9 Governor Gloria Salas, Area 3 Director Britt Vaughan, President Lynn Lipinski, Immediate Past President Kelli Potts, and former President Becky Gimple. It’s an inspiring testament to what happens when we unite our voices for change. (Check out the video on Facebook HERE).
And that’s not all—Kelli Potts, rocking her hard hat and safety vest, was also featured in Zonta International’s official video for the day. Her message is a powerful reminder that every girl, no matter her circumstances, deserves the opportunity to shine. (view it HERE)!
Join us as we continue to flip the script and advocate for the rights of girls everywhere. Together, we’re creating a world where every girl can reach for the stars!
